Talented London-hailing singer/songwriter Sinead Harnett has just released her newest single “Body”. The R&B songstresses has a notable consistent release record, with 4 projects in the last 4 years. With this new single, there’s a sense of a new project, possibly a studio album on the way.
Produced by GRADES, who’s responsible for producing her hugely popular “If You Let Me” from her self-titled 2016 EP, Sinead Harnett’s beautiful sultry voice is her trademark, and those vocals are what make “Body” the heated track that it is as Harnett sings about giving into the temptation of a special lover. The song’s delicate mood is perfect for chill mode.
“I’ll give you my body,” she sings on the hook, almost as though it’s a promise. “Just don’t tell nobody.”
With plenty of new music on the horizon and a fast growing fan base internationally, it’s an inevitable reality that Sinead Harnett will pleasantly stun R&B lovers once more in 2018.
TWICE – “What Is Love?”
“What Is Love?” is an uptempo dance beat track that digs into finding the true definition of love. It is written and produced by J.Y. Park, the same producer of their hit “Signal” and was arranged by Lee Min-woo, who co-produced “Knock Knock” and their last Japanese single “Candy Pop“.
In the first hour of its official release in Korea, TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to have an album debut at No. 1 on Melon charts. They broke their personal record of 350,000 pre-orders for What is Love?, following their 330,000 pre-orders of Twicetagram last October.
In the music video, the members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu are watching TV and they start to fighting over the remote control.
On TV, they are watching various love stories from different films like Ghost, Princess Diaries, Pulp Fiction, Romeo + Juliet, La La Land and more. Each member changes roles and represents a different movie and love story.
Deidre & The Dark – “Unreasonable Love”
Having started Deidre & the Dark as a creative side project during her time as founding member & front-woman of Brooklyn band Savoir Adore, Deidre delicately balances farcical-fun and drama, moulding a classic yet modern aural and visual aesthetic with this near completely different identity.
“Unerasable Love” is adorned with sweeping string arrangements that sink and swell and create a dark atmosphere in the song. She masters the storytelling aspect in this song, manipulating the deep and dark melodies, uttering each word with a poignant delivery before the strings usher in the surprisingly light chorus. The whole vibe of the song is strictly glamorous but stays true to its 60’s pop core.
Shakka + AlunaGeorge – “Man Down”
It looks like it’s full steam ahead for 2018. Already with a host of collaborations under his belt so far this year with names like Stylo G and Wiley, Shakka thrusts himself back into the spotlight as he drops the video to his latest single “Man Down“, calling in duo AlunaGeorge for the feature.
Produced by the brilliant JAE5 who is giving us a summery vibe early, “Man Down” sees Shakka detail what happened when he met a particular attractive woman who knew exactly what she wanted out of the very complicated situation they found themselves in. He sums it up best: “She don’t wanna be no side, she just wanna be my wife”.
Starring as the protagonist in the KC-Locke directed visual, Shakka looks to be booed up with his girl as they roam the streets of Los Angeles with their loot while dodging the police. It’s a Bonnie & Clyde-esque flick but she’s secretly in cahoots with Aluna so it doesn’t fair well for only Shakka in the end.
Having confirmed with Ebro on Beats 1 that this year will be the year of his debut studio album, this is sure to serve as it’s leading single. We can’t wait to see more from the West London native.
Abisha – “Project X”
“Project X” blends elements of R&B and soft electronica to create a dreamlike aura, which resonates in the song’s entirety. Her sultry vocals against the soft bass, this record uniquely straddles between dark R&B and more upbeat alternative sounds. The track prickles between fragility and assertiveness, her distinct vocal teases yet stakes its claim.
“‘Project X‘ is completely different from anything else that I’ve got up my sleeve right now and I’m so excited to be releasing it. It started off as an experiment – I wanted to create something that was completely unstructured and break the rules of a typical ‘good’ song a little bit.”
“The theme of the track is just being completely besotted my someone and hoping that they feel the same way. Its playful and massively flirtatious.”
Honing her alt-R&B sound with legendary songwriter/producer Mike Chapman, Abisha ready to push the boundaries of what the genre is capable of. Some artists reveal themselves in an instant. Others take the long way around, each release peeling back the layers of self slowly. For Abisha, the case is very much the latter and unmistakably all on her own terms.
Halsey + Big Sean + Stefflon Don – “Alone”
Halsey has released the video of the new remix of “Alone” from her second album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. One of her hottest collaborations yet, “Alone”, is a brand new track featuring chart-topping rapper Big Sean as well as the English breakthrough rapper Stefflon Don.
The new remix of “Alone” was released on March 15 and is part of the third single from her second studio album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.
The new music video follows the storyline of Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and the protagonist, Luna, who goes to a masked party in Kingdom Theatre and there, she sees Solis, her lover.
In the middle of the party, she keeps seeing Solis with another woman similar to her in “Now Or Never” music video who kisses Solis, takes his hand and leads him to a room. The music video contains many references to Baz Luhrmann films Romeo + Juliet and The Great Gatsby. Visit her website for more.
