Adele recently appeared on 60 Minutes Australia, for an intimate, personal interview, covering fears, heartbreak and the story of her explosive success. This was an interview not to miss, as the ever-rising Adele also gave the world a sneak peak at her next single, “When We Were Young” in an exclusive performance for the show. So far, we know that this song was co-written with singer-songwriter/pianist Tobias Jesso Jr, and from the preview video, this is sure to be a soulful masterpiece. Adele’s album 25 is out on November 20. Watch the full performance of “When We Were Young” below.

Miley Cyrus + Flaming Lips – “Lighter”:

Miley-Cyrus-Terry-Richardson-2013-23
Nothing that Miley Cyrus does can really be considered surprising anymore, and yet few could have predicted the former pop princess’s latest jaunt into psychedelic rock. The new music video for “Lighter”, a track from ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz‘ continues in this vein, and is one of many tracks on the album featuring a collaboration from The Flaming Lips. You can watch the video here.

The video is quite a standard fare for both artists, featuring hallucinogenic colours, a modicum of nudity, and very little else. Cyrus is currently touring with Wayne Coyne’s band, and her latest album features collaborations from a range of incongruous artists, from Big Sean to Ariel Pink.

Carly Rae Jepsen – “Last Christmas”:

After the release of critically acclaimed single “Call Me Maybe” (co-written with fellow Canadian, Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench), Carly Rae Jepsen rose to fame worldwide overnight. She subsequently went on to release two more albums: Kiss (2012) and Emotion (2015). Both albums received favourable reviews, only adding to her ever-increasing fame. Now, as Christmas draws nearer, so does the Christmas spirit. Jepsen, yet in another stunning display, decided to cover the by-now legendary song “Last Christmas”, originally by Wham! She adds her own special touch to the song, but still manages to keep it the same.
