We Plug 2 You… Ema The Kid Origimoz — Above and Beyond

div style=”text-align: justify;”Hi There! Its been a week but I’m back, today’s review is oceans way from my last week’s feature, in terms of genres, that is. So I proudly present to you a collaborative album, brought to you by MC a href=”http://www.myspace.com/ema-the-kid”ibEma-the-kid/b/i/a amp; producer a href=”http://www.myspace.com/origimozmusic”biOrigimoz/i/b/a. When I was told that the album was a collaboration with a producer, I was wondering why that was necessary, but when you listen to the songs, you will hear the creativity and talent both parties equally bring to this album./divbr /div style=”text-align: center;”a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rPPGj3IU9Xo/TO0v2qUeGBI/AAAAAAAAADM/U_vRxf-4o-8/s1600/ema%2Bcover.jpg”img alt=”” border=”0″ id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543139332482537490″ src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rPPGj3IU9Xo/TO0v2qUeGBI/AAAAAAAAADM/U_vRxf-4o-8/s320/ema%2Bcover.jpg” style=”height: 320px; width: 320px;” //a/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”Based on the information I received, it’s obvious that these dudes don’t like talking too much about themselves but would rather let the music do all the talking so I’ll quickly introduce you to the artists behind this album and move it right along;br /br //divdiv style=”text-align: justify;”Harlem-born Rapper a href=”http://www.myspace.com/ema-the-kid”strongEma-the-Kid/strong/a grew up in new york citystrong /strongbut is currently working and studying in London, UK. He is actually studying for a degree in music informatics, so you can tell that the dude is all about the music. He says he draws his inspiration from the likes of Kanye West, Andre 3000 amp; Gnarls Barkley and following that list I bet you can sense the type of music this album is going to bring/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”Producer stronga href=”http://www.myspace.com/origimozmusic”Origimoz/a/strong with Mozambique origins was born in China and grew up in his hometown (Mozambique). At just 20 years of age, he has been into quite a number of things from graphic designing to MC-ing and now finally resting comfortably into production./divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”With that said, let’s listen to some music and you can be the judge…/divbr /div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rPPGj3IU9Xo/TO03aJq8EMI/AAAAAAAAADU/g03_JtbWATU/s320/ema+nd+origomez.JPG” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”img border=”0″ height=”295″ src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rPPGj3IU9Xo/TO03aJq8EMI/AAAAAAAAADU/g03_JtbWATU/s400/ema+nd+origomez.JPG” width=”400″ //a/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”This song, ‘Once Upon A Time’, is a song I can totally relate to albeit not directly but the story telling is one that everyone will be able to relate to amp; credit to Ema-the-kid for adeptly bringing us along on this story. Considering its imaginary flow amp; dreamy musical backdrop, the meaning behind the song is far from a fairytale. The storyline is a perfect example of a sweet food with a very bitter after taste. This song is one of the realest on the album if you ask me, hope you like it too./divdiv style=”text-align: center;”br /object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2313638500/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=45535f//” height=”100″ type=”text/html” width=”400″ object data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2313638500/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=45535f//” type=”text/html” width=”400″ height=”100″/object/object/divbr /div style=”text-align: center;”div style=”text-align: justify;”As we proceed…/div/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”This next track, ‘Smiles amp; Frowns’ is another sweet amp; sour track but I decided to plug it anyway because it’s different from the previous song in terms of the sound amp; music. Truth be told, if you have ever heard of Light House Family and like them, then you’ll most definitely love the chorus of this particular track which is sung by a featured artist called Mex. Even as much as iLove the hook, I have to say that Ema-the-kid delivers on every verse…/divbr /div style=”text-align: center;”object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=1382611222/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=49525a//” height=”100″ type=”text/html” width=”400″ object data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=1382611222/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=49525a//” type=”text/html” width=”400″ height=”100″/object/object/divdiv style=”text-align: center;”br /br //divdiv style=”margin: 0px; text-align: justify;”This next one is a must listen, this particular track cemented my decision to feature this album. It is the type of track you wanna listen to, top-down in your convertible, if you have a convertible that is (anyway it’s too bad it’s Winter time even if you did have a convertible except you wanna do like Jay-Z and go “Top-down in the Winter…”). Sorry to digress however, this track has that New York Hip-Hop feel to it with a very catchy hook. I present to you, ‘Top Of the World’. The singer sings…/divblockquotediv style=”text-align: center;”span class=”Apple-style-span” style=”color: red;””Im sitting top/im getting that money/i got the whole world/ you aint taking /spanspan class=”Apple-style-span” style=”color: red;”that off me…..”/span/div/blockquotediv style=”text-align: center;”object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2403101464/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4f5d69//” height=”100″ type=”text/html” width=”400″ object data=”http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2403101464/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4f5d69//” type=”text/html” width=”400″ height=”100″/object/object/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”Well that’s it from me folks… All in all the album strongAbove and Beyond/strong is a really good Hip-Hop album, it sounds like a fusion of modern day and classical music (thanks to Origimoz) with a great Hip-Hop element (Ema-the-kid) and it all works. I’m personally impressed with this one because you can be in any particular mood and still find a song on here to match that mood. The 15-track album has a general feel good sound which I’m sure you’ll like…/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”Download the album a href=”http://abovexbeyond.bandcamp.com/””above and beyond”/a right now. Its FREE + it’s GOOD MUSIC so you need to get it, its that simple…/divbr /br /div style=”text-align: justify;”We Plug Good Music, you love it and everybody’s happy/divbr /br /div style=”text-align: justify;”2 up, 2 down Until next week/divbr /div style=”text-align: justify;”… Fhanthom/div
