Sarkodie + Ace Hood – “New Guy”:

Following on from the audio release of his international collaboration, Sarkodie has finally released the anticipated visuals to his new single “New Guy” featuring We The Best rapper Ace Hood. Filmed in Miami, Florida and directed by South African video director, Justin Campos, “New Guy” shows the two rappers performing together in a variety of locations from dark basements to Miami rooftops. A current nominee for the BET Awards’ ‘Best International Act: Africa’, Sarkodie is putting the finishing touches to his new album, Mary which is dropping in a few months. Watch and enjoy “New Guy” down below.

Armin Van Buuren + Mr Probz – “Another You”:

Armin Van Buuren, who is one of the world’s best electronic dance music DJs and producers at this moment, has unveiled the official music video for his new track “Another You”. Fellow Dutch artist, singer Mr Probz is assisting the record by adding his vocals to the Van Buuren-produced sound. The visuals, shot in Spain, show a broken-hearted guy walking through the streets to look for his ex-girlfriend, only to bump into another girl who makes him feel better. In the final scene, we can find the two Dutchmen celebrating in some Cuban bar. “Another You” is the first single taken from Van Buuren’s upcoming album. Watch the video here.

Kehlani + Lexii Alijai – “Jealous (No Sleep Remix)”:

It has been kinda busy around emerging soul singer Kehlani lately. After the release of her mixtape You Should Be Here, the Bay Area artist has now unveiled a remix of her track “Jealous”. The record is about a guy who, to her dismissal, is only around Kehlani for the fame while she is clarifying that she’s not up for those kind of fake people. The remix to “Jealous”, featuring Lexii Alijai, is created by Pittsburgh-based producer No Sleep, and contains a pretty fresh beat. Listen to it here.

Patoranking + Wande Coal – “My Woman My Everything”:

Following the release of his hit single “Daniella Whine”, VP Records star Patoranking has released the visuals to his new single “My Woman My Everything (MWME)” featuring Black Diamond Boss, Wande Coal.

Dedicated to all the beautiful women with a good heart, “My Woman My Everything” is set to be a summer hit for Patoranking who delivers in his signatory Patois style to a catchy beat which is complemented with Wande Coal’s soothing voice. “My Woman, My Everything” was produced by Ghanaian producer, DJ Breezy and the visuals were directed by Moe Musa. Watch out for Patoranking’s highly anticipated debut album due to drop later this year, watch and enjoy “My Woman My Everything” down below…

Leon Bridges – Coming Home (Album):

We have been waiting for it, and there it is. Leon Bridges is a 25-year-old Fort Worth resident, singer, and in my eyes, a future soul legend. His debut album is a stamp of his essence, described as a “throwback to ’60s-soul a la Otis Redding and Sam Cooke”. Bridges plays guitar wonderfully, and performs in vintage clothing; that says a lot to his music style: His music sounds like he looks, and Bridges surely has the vocal talent to make this combo work to perfection.

You all are certainly familiar with the Texan’s track “Coming Home”, which received regular airplay and was also a Top 10 Most Viral Track on Spotify. Well, the entire debut album of the same name, is full of vintage treasure – a dusty vinyl production married with a gospel charm, like “Better Man” or even “Lisa Sawyer”. Have a listen to the full album below thanks to NPR, travel through time and judge for yourself.

Travie McCoy + Sia – “Golden”:

Since the split of popular rock/rap band Gym Class Heroes, Travie Mccoy has released several singles including collaborations with Bruno Mars (“Billionaire”) and the UK’s Olly Murs (“Wrapped Up”). Travie has rained over the pop world sparadically using his simple lyrics and catchy pop instrumentals teaming up with the hottest and up and coming artists all over the globe.

2015 sees Travie teaming up with the infectious vocalist and talented lyricist Sia on new single “Golden”, the summer infused single doesn’t stray far from any of their sounds and style, Sia delivers that powerful catchy hook she does best as well as giving Travie not much work to do to give the single some bounce, Travie delivers his usual simple lyrics and flow complimenting Sia’s vocals. The music video is nothing innovative but delivers a clear cut message, though there are some interesting shots darted around the video – its popularity will be its arty pop vibe, watch the music video for “Golden” below.

Keith James – From The Grey EP:

Well accomplished songwriter Keith James, who is the name behind many of Jeremih’s hits, including “Birthday Sex” and records for Nicki Minaj and Wale, has stepped into the spotlight as a performer with his debut project From The Grey. James has teamed up with platinum selling producer Mick Schultz on his new EP, with the main slogan, “one world, one people“.

In fact, From The Grey, indulges the notion that stereotypes and genre lines should be blurred, the reason behind this specific art work on the cover. From The Grey includes James’ first single “Not My Day”, a catchy sound that has projected James as an artist to watch in 2015, or my favorite, “Treat Her Like a Lady”. His music is described as a contagious mix with a soothing voice a la Teddy Pendergrass, explosive combo! A sound magnified by the positive energy reflected by James. From The Grey is out now on iTunes, listen loud and proud.

Foals – “What Went Down”:

Foals. They’re back. But that name no longer seems to be fitting if new single, the title track to their upcoming album, “What Went Down” is anything to go by. This isn’t the sound of a frolicking year-old horse. This is the sound of a stallion. One as black as the night. Red-eyed. Chomping at the bit. Grunting from its nostrils and tearing through the land at a relentless pace. The new album’s out on August 28. That gives you plenty time to brace yourself for the onslaught.

Words by Shade Adegbeleye, Antonia Künzel, Dahiana Nicolas, Dee Eshun and Oli Kuscher
