Heralded as one of the finest lyricists in the UK by the likes of Hypebeast and Okayplayer, with co-signs from Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Jay-Z collaborator Young Guru, British rap artist and producer AKS has always had a real sense of palpable excitement around his music from fans and critics alike.
As the first guest of our new ‘Behind The Music’ podcast, the South London native takes us behind the scenes into his new single “Parity” as we dig deeper into the main themes of the song, as well as the creative process and how the record came together.
During the interview, AKS talked about being a black father, not being the kind of artist to follow trends and his idea of success. He also discussed the deeply personal record “Parity”, being independent and his favorite track “Truth Be Told”, among other things.
