WPGM Reviews: EDEN Live At KOKO (In Pictures)

After much anticipation, EDEN was finally back in London this February, in support of his third full-length album ICYMI (In Case You Missed It), for two unforgettable nights in Camden and Mornington Crescent’s iconic venue, KOKO.

During the ICYMI listening party last year, EDEN stated how this album would be more experimental than his previous releases, and this is immediately evident from the beginning of the set, as it opens with an animation loop of the anime icon Totoro giving the audience a big smile.

Written motion type graphics appear on the screen, accompanied with brief dialogue between a robotic voice and EDEN himself, before the man of the hour finally takes to the stage. Softly backlight, EDEN’s face is in silhouette, however he, and his drummer, are both seen dressed in white Formula 1 suits.

“Closer 2” starts the show for the largely male crowd and smartphones immediately fill the air. Known for his exceptional light shows, this tour is no different as the lights visually represent the alternative/electronic experimental notes of EDEN’s third album perfectly.

Early in the set, the fourth song in to be exact, the crowd suddenly burst to life, as EDEN plays easily one of his biggest hits with “sex”. The song, recently having gone TikTok famous, gets the loudest response of the night in the form of a mass singalong of the timeless song.

After teasing the end of the show with new track “Call Me Back”, EDEN brought the night to a close with an encore comprised of highly fan requested tracks; “Wake Up” and “Rock&Roll”. A perfect choice for a satisfying end, EDEN proved yet again that he is one of the most unique live acts touring today
