WPGM Reviews: Omar Apollo Live At History (In Pictures)

On November 29, Omar Apollo appeared at History in Toronto in front of a sold-out crowd. The Mexican-born artist showcased his raw talent with a mix of his old and new songs from his discography. Apollo commanded the audience’s attention from the first moment he stepped on stage with the dazzling outfit.

Apollo’s show featured his biggest hits, including “Invincible” and “Evergreen.” The audience was On their feet the entire time, dancing and singing. Apollo’s stage presence was captivating, and he had a way of connecting with the audience that made the concert feel intimate, even in a room filled with thousands of fans.

Omar Apollo rose to fame in 2017, releasing his song “Ugotme” on Spotify. It quickly gained attention featuring on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ playlist. This led Omar Apollo to release his EP Stereo in 2018. Afterward, Omar Apollo went on to work with producers like Kenny Beats and John Shanks.

In April 2021, Omar Apollo released his debut album Ivory, featuring artists like Daniel Caesar and Kali Uchis. His single “Evergreen” was met with rave reviews by fans and critics alike after going viral on TikTok and boosting it to number 62 on the Billboard 200 Chart.

In 2022, Omar Apollo received his first Grammy nomination in the ‘Best New Artist’ category. Apollo continues to shine in the music industry with his R&B, Latin, Funk, and Bedroom Pop Influences.
